Deadlines & Where to Send Applications

Deadlines

  • For information on Standard Due Dates for Competing Applications, please refer to submission dates/deadlines .
  • Note important exceptions to these dates: grant applications submitted in response to Requests for Applications (RFA) and special Program Announcements (PAR) that have special receipt dates as noted in that RFA and PAR. Check the due dates carefully in the funding opportunity announcement.
  • For all electronically submitted applications, on time submission means an application is submitted error free no later than 5P.M. local (applicant organization) time on the application due date. Please note that there is no error-correction window that extends a submission deadline. When application due dates fall on a weekend or Federal holiday, they are extended to the next business day.

Late Applications

Late applications are not encouraged and never granted in advance. See NIH Policy on Late Submission of Grant Applications  for more information. Please note that late applications will NOT be accepted for RFAs that have declared, in the Application Due Date field, “No late applications will be accepted for this Funding Opportunity Announcement.” Refer to the NIH Continuous Submission Policy  for terms and conditions.

Where to Send Applications
